Throughout the year there are many activities scheduled by RATSA to heighten community awareness of the importance of school bus drivers and school bus safety. School bus drivers are the gate keepers of the school system. They can set the tone for everything that happens to a child for the rest of the day. They counsel, care, wipe noses and sometimes give mittens. The school bus driver may be the first friendly face a child sees . Their welcoming smiles often give a child the needed boost to start the day right.
